Prize for outstanding study achievements for Anna Posod
On June 26th, at the Villa Blanka Innsbruck, the 2009 awards of the German Friends of the Universities in Innsbruck were awarded. The winner of the Medical University is the student Anna Posod, who works in the Neonatal Neuroscience Research Group.

Our group and the work of our team is dedicated to reduce perinatal brain damage and thus to reduce the neurological sequelae in later life.
Prevention of perinatal brain damage is of major importance for public health and obviously for individual well being.
Systemic hypothermia, cooling of asphyxiated babies
neo.nEURO.network was an international multicenter study. This study group analysed the effect of induced systemic hypothermia in asphyxiated newborn infants.

NEOBRAIN, an international research consortium committed to protect newborn awarded a three - year EU grant. 13 international partners all over Europe and New Zealand found together for translational, interdisciplinary and integrated research in order to to find new diagnostic and therapeutic approaches to decrease perintal brain damage in preterm infants
