Karina Wegleiter (M.D.) graduated from Meinhardinum Stams with general qualification for university entrance in 2001. She started her studies on human medicine in 2001 at the Medical University of Innsbruck. In June 2006 she joined the Neonatal Neuroscience group. In January 2009 she graduated from human medicine. She performed her doctoral thesis on the effect of haematopoietic growth factors on long-term outcome after hypoxic-hyperoxic-ischemic brain damage in newborn mice.
